Pompey pulled off an unlikely win at Fratton Park this afternoon, coming from a goal down to beat the Arsenal despite being second-best for long periods of the match.
The Gunners took a fourth minute lead through Peter Goring. They remained the better side for most of the match but Pompey turned the game on its its head in the last 12 minutes.
First, Ike Clarke glanced home a Peter Harris centre after 78 minutes. Then, seven minutes from time, Harris crossed for Jack Froggatt to tap into an empty net.
Pompey's thrilling comeback against the Arsenal this afternoon was all the more significant in the light of results elsewhere. The Blues were the only side in the top seven to win!
