About

The Pompey History Society was formed in 2015 by a group of supporters committed to preserving, conserving and ultimately sharing the rich archive of Portsmouth Football Club. It is the only society endorsed by Portsmouth FC and the society works closely with the club on a range of heritage activities. Since it was formed some of the projects the society has undertaken include:

  • Commissioning a replica Football League Division One trophy for the club's Boardroom
  • Commissioning a replica Football League Division Three trophy for the club's Boardroom
  • Managing a Heritage Fund oral history project (2019-2021) entitled Pompey: Champions of England
  • Producing Pompey Voices supplements in the Sports Mail
  • Staging History Days at Fratton Park
  • Supplying material from the archive for the club's commercial activities
  • Supplying volunteer official Portsmouth FC Stadium Tour guides

We are funded by fan donations and bequests, fundraising activities and grant funding.
