Final score: Burnley 2 - 1 Pompey Pompey scorer: Bert Barlow Attendance: 28,541
Six visits, six defeats. That's Pompey's record at Burnley after losing 2-1 at Turf Moor this afternoon. Pompey were poor for the first hour. They rallied slightly once they were two-down but had left themselves with too much to do.

Pompey pulled a goal back on 67 minutes when Bert Barlow converted a cross from Peter Harris. The Clarets' goal then came under siege but it was too little, too late, and Bob Jackson's team will return to Portsmouth empty handed tonight.
Pompey drop to seventh in the First Divison table as a result of their defeat at Burnley. They have 19 points from 17 matches, eight points behind table-topping Liverpool, but, worryingly, only seven points ahead of the second relegation place
