My First Match watching Portsmouth FC

This season the Pompey History Society are giving fans the opportunity of recording their memories of watching their first match at Fratton Park or elsewhere.

We are looking to expand our archive of recordings from fans , we are interested to hear

• How you travelled to the Game?

• Who you went with and how old you were?

• First impressions of the ground?

• Smells and Songs

• Did you enjoy it?

• How long you have been watching Pompey?

• Date of game and Opponents

All that is of course if you can remember all the details.  If not we can research the game and help you fill the gaps.

Recordings will be made in person or over the telephone depending on logistics.

Each Month in the coming season we are looking to record memories as follows-

• August & September - 1940s and 1950s
• October & November - 1960s and 1970s
• December & January - 1980s and 1990s
• February & March - 2000s and 2010s
• April - 2010 and 2020

All contributors will be entered into a free draw and an autographed item of memorabilia/ book will be presented at the last home game .

In addition at the end of each period above the best contribution as judged by PHS will be presented a unique gift relating to the first game attended.
