Match Summary | 1958/59 was a season to forget with Pompey finishing bottom of the First Division after being Champions only nine years previously. Pompey had picked up just one point from the last ten games before heading to White Hart Lane where they deserved a win after Spurs get an undeserved penalty and a clear offside goal and concede the equaliser with just seconds left. Freddie Cox, the much maligned boss has a smile though as two of his signings Harry Harris and Ron Saunders score the goals. The last thirteen games see Pompey pick up just two more points. It was Jimmy Dickinson's 500th appearance for his only club. |
