Biography | A sports all rounder, Lindy joined Pompey on demob from the Army. His chances proved limited and after making seven league and one FAC appearance (scoring his only goal against Norwich City at Fratton Park) across the two championship seasons, he was allowed to leave in April 1950. Lindy enjoyed eight seasons at Ayresome Park before spending another three seasons at Mansfield Town. In total he made over 350 league appearances before retirement. In retirement a media career beckoned back in his home country. |
