Biography Harry guested on three occasions in the League South, the first time on 2 March 1946 against West Ham United, before signing permanently approximately three weeks later. He quickly established himself as first choice left back on the resumption of league football and missed but two of the games in the championship years, scoring once. Underated in some quarters, Harry possessed a powerful and accurate left foot, was a fine tackler and shrewd in his positional play. After assuming the club captaincy in 1951, Harry remained integral to the first team squad until leaving in 1954 to take up the role of player manager at Gloucester City. He later also managed Chelmsford City.
