South Stand Centenary

The South Stand will celebrate its Centenary in August 2025.
Designed by Archibald Keir Leitch it was built in just ten weeks in the summer of 1925.
Leitch was known as the man that built British football stadiums and in the late 1920s he was hired by 16 out of the 22 clubs in the English First Division.
A number of events are being planned to celebrate the Centenary and details will be given once they are confirmed but will include a talk by historian Simon Inglis and stories of fans who have sat in stand over the years. Here are pictures of the construction work.
