May 8-14: Season Over And Champions Go To Butlins
Monday 8: Work on the restoration of the clock in the tower of Portsmouth Guildhall has been completed, and at 7pm tonight the Pompey Chimes will ring out for the first time since the Guildhall was damaged by German incendiary bombs in January 1941.
Tuesday 9: Pompey are to retain 42 members of their playing staff, six of whom are currently completing their national service. Five players have been placed on the transfer list.

Thursday 11: Twelve Pompey players have been engaged by the Butlins organisation to provide coaching and give demonstrations at their Clacton Holiday Camp during June.
The Pompey players who will be appearing at Butlins during June are: Harry Ferrier, Phil Rookes, Jasper Yeuell, Reg Pickett, Bill Spence, Peter Harris, Bill Hindmarsh, Bill Thompson, Len Phillips, Jimmy Scoular, Duggie Reid and Ike Clarke.
One of the first clubs to send a congratulatory telegram to Pompey this week was Wolverhampton Wanderers, the side they pipped to the title in the season's thrilling finale on Saturday.
Sheffield Wednesday also congratulated Pompey, adding that they were looking forward to playing them next season. The Owls were promoted at the weekend, thereby ending Southampton's hopes of joining Pompey in the First Division.
