John Rogers completes the 92!

John Rogers 92

The Fratton Park tours this season have seen some high spots, special guests and on Saturday 6 April one very special occasion.

The tours organised by the Pompey History Society have been sold out most of the season and Saturday's tours included fans from France and Belgium and aged from 85 to just a few months old. They all kept Guides Colin Farmery, Mick Comben, Roger Higgins, Paul Boynton and Dave Taylor on their toes with a variety of questions.

The highlight of the Tours though was when John Rogers told Dave and Paul that Fratton Park was his 92nd league ground (which meant he has now seen a game at every league stadium).  John, a Leeds United season ticket holder, started his tour at a ground no longer in the league at Park Avenue Bradford which was demolished in 1980.

John and his partner, were particularly interested in the Archibald Leitch designed South Stand which celebrates its centenary next year and the History Society congratulate him on his achievement

On the Tours you can learn about the clubs legends, the honours, the history of the stadium, the past present and the future and some stories never heard before (or again).  Book your tour on the Pompey eticketing web site.
