Match Summary | Pompey had sold over 50,000 tickets for the game but due to Covid19 it was delayed by 342 days and played behind closed doors. Pompey really missed the backing of the Blue Army and struggled to find anything like their League One form relying on Craig MacGillivray to make several fine stops. Ryan Williams was way off target with the first penalty and when keeper Hladky saves Ronan Curtis' effort Pompey's grip on the EFL trophy is gone. they would have been the first club to retain the trophy and sadly for Salford they only hold it for one day as Sunderland with the 2020/21 trophy the next day. Kenny Jackett is sacked a few days later. |
