Match Summary | Pompey make their first visit to the Manor Ground to face an Oxford side rapidly climbing the leagues after being elected in 1962. The original game had been snowed off on Boxing Day but Pompey had a large following despite being a midweek affair. Oxford facing a relegation battle want it more and Shuker puts the home side ahead after only 14 minutes. Hiron soon equalised but Harrington put Oxford ahead immediately and extended their lead after the break. The Oxford side included Ron Atkinson and his brother Graham. |
